General Therapy

How can general therapy help?

  • Are you finding day-to-day living difficult to cope with?
  • Is anxiety or depression affecting your ability to lead a fulfilling life?
  • Do you need to explore possible alternatives to current life problems and seek help with making a decision?
  • Do you lack self-confidence?

If so then general therapy counselling may help:

Life is demanding and we all do our best to cope with difficulties which arise in our home, our workplace, our family and our other relationships. There are times when these may seem overpowering and we feel that we are no longer able to cope, are struggling to keep up, are unhappy or confused; it makes sense to seek help to deal with these feelings and in these circumstances, counselling may be the answer.

As a counsellor, I am trained to listen to your problems in a confidential and non-judgmental way. However, a counsellor cannot provide instant, ready-made answers; you the client, must find the right solution yourself. The careful listening attention and support of a trained counsellor can help you discover a way through the apparently impossible problem-maze and the difficult days. Counselling can be emotionally draining and painful, but it can also be liberating and joyful. Each journey is unique and I will be there to walk it with you and provide the support that you require.

As a counsellor I have experience of helping clients work through a wide range of issues, just some of which include:

  • Lack of confidence
  • Low self-esteem
  • Stress
  • Panic attacks
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Redundancy
  • Depression

Your particular concerns may not be listed but please do not hesitate to contact me for an initial discussion no matter what your worries or difficulties may be.
